Open Doors, Open Hearts, Open Minds
![]() In John Wesley’s sermon, Catholic Spirit, published in 1750, Wesley asked, “Is thy heart right with God, and thy neighbor?” Wesley concludes his sermon by saying, “If thine heart is as my heart, if thou lovest God, and all mankind, I ask no more, then give thine hand.”
Now there was a lot more to the sermon, and the dialect was much different than now, but the message remains the same, and especially the challenge to Christians to, “Love the Lord our God with all our heart, and all our soul, and all our mind, and all our strength, and to love our neighbor as our self.”
If one has the heart of Christ, and wants to serve God, then we should lovingly give each other our hand. Only with out-stretched hands and arms, and love of neighbor can we come to know and serve God with the love He seeks from us.
I invite you to come and worship with us at the Cameron First United Methodist Church, or the Maysfield United Methodist Church.
